Steve is a retired financial executive, having been a banker, CFO and consultant over a 40-year career in New York and Los Angeles. He retired after serving as Executive Director of Shomrei Torah Synagogue in West Hills, CA.
His board service includes Temple Judea (VP Finance & Development, VP Adult Education), El Nido Family Centers (Board President, VP Finance) and American Youth Soccer Organization’s program for players with disabilities – VIP (Chair, National Commission). Steve is co-founder of the Valley Chevra Kadisha, a community-based, volunteer driven, not-for-profit that serves the greater Los Angeles area.
He was a member of the founding Advisory Board of the Conejo/West Valley Melton School. As a life-long learner, he led parashat ha’shavua classes and enjoys studying the works of the Rambam (Moses Maimonides).
Steven has a degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Encino, CA, with his wife Patty, a talent manager. Their daughter, Kaylen, works in development for the Jewish Community Federation & Endowment Fund of San Francisco. Their son, Benjamin, is Program Director at Sacred Design Lab and co-founder of Kinhood, a men’s wellness organization.
