Many of us have heard the term, “The Golden Age” of Spain”- a period when Jews, Christians and Muslims enjoyed political stability, economic prosperity and cultural development.

But how golden was this golden age?

  • Was this period as open and tolerant as we might imagine?
  • Might such coexistence have been a threat to Jewish identity?
  • What can contemporary Jews learn about coexistence and identity from this period?

To discuss these questions, and more, please join us for the upcoming webinar as we study to together a lesson from Melton’s newest course of study:  The Star and the Crescent: The Long Relationship of Judaism and Islam.

With Ruth Bergman, Melton Detroit faculty member
