Our second Conference of Learners will center around “Embracing Hope in Our Fractured World” – a theme that is more relevant than ever before and will drive our learning with some of the most gifted educators in Los Angeles.
Learners of all experience levels and affiliation are welcome to benefit from this conference created with you – our learners – in mind!
Featuring:
- Loay Alshareef, a Saudi Arabian activist promoting peace through a passion for languages and history, he is a Penn State graduate and a social media influencer with hundreds of thousands of followers, posting in Arabic, English, and Hebrew.
- The Braid: Advancing Jewish Arts & Culture
- Live music with Craig Taubman
- Field visit to the Pico Union Project in Boyle Heights
- Learn from contemporary Jewish thinkers, scholars, innovators, and artists who will help us find "hope in our fractured world".
- Experience first-hand the important work of the Pico-Union project, a vibrant cultural center that builds community health, resilience, and neighborhood revitalization in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles.
- Enjoy a cocktail party and concert with renowned singer, songwriter, and composer Craig Taubman; followed by the storytelling magic of The Braid, the Jewish story company and leading non-profit organization creating, curating, producing and preserving stories grounded in Jewish culture and experience.

The conference will be held at American Jewish University's Brandeis-Bardin Campus in Simi Valley, California.
The beautifully landscaped grounds and breathtaking views of the Santa Susana Mountains offer a stunning backdrop to any educational experience, and allow Melton conference participants to learn in a truly unique space.
