Sherrie Weiss is a Florence Melton Adult Learning graduate from the Community Foundation of Jewish Education in Chicago, having continued her studies through Melton with the Board of Jewish Education of Metropolitan Chicago. She is a retired early childhood educator and resides in Riverwoods, IL, with her husband Albert Weiss. They have 5 children between them. As a board member of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, Sherrie co-chaired the effort for raising funds and organizing a program to bring children of fallen soldiers to Chicago for a 2-week camp experience. In response to circumstances in Israel due to the Intifada, Sherrie and her husband developed Yeledim B'Yachad, a program to assist at-risk pre-school aged children in Ma'alot. She is currently Co-Vice Chair for Faith in Action as a representative for Congregation B'nai Tikvah, and is involved in development with the Florence Melton School.
