Meetinghouse by Melton learning session

Are you in your 30s, 40s, or 50s? Navigating the ups and downs of this season of life: career, relationships, meaning, purpose?

Meetinghouse brings you into conversation with one of the world’s richest traditions. Whether you're looking to delve more deeply into Jewish life, find practical tools for navigating this particular season, or simply connect with the people around you, Meetinghouse meets you where you are.

Developed by the Melton School for Adult Jewish Learning, Meetinghouse is built for busy adults who want to engage in deeper conversations – from fun dialogues about contemporary topics to wrestling with hard questions using texts that reflect the wisdom of centuries of human experience.

It works simply. Thematic kits give you everything you need to gather a small group of friends (4 to 12 people) in your own space, for peer-led conversations rooted in Jewish text. No prior knowledge required. Just thoughtful questions, good company, and wisdom that comes alive through sharing perspectives.

Current themes include the challenges of the "sandwich generation", escaping hustle culture, where '80s movies and Jewish virtues intersect, how food connects us, and the transformative power of travel. It turns out that Jewish tradition has a lot to say about all of it, and the conversations have the power to leave you seeing your own life through a different lens.

5 Kits, 5 Engaging Themes:

Complexity of Caregiving - Offer a space to sit with the tenderness, tension, and meaning that come with caring for others — even when the roles are complicated.
Bye to Burnout - Create a sense of reflective calm and resilience in the midst of what can feel like the ceaseless pressure of hustle culture.
Reel Wisdom: Gen X Movies Meet Jewish Virtues - Connect Jewish classical texts and iconic 1980s films, using tradition and pop culture together to spark reflection on character, values, and who we aspire to become.
Food as Community Care - Invite participants to reflect on the simple yet profound ways food connects us to memory, tradition, and to each other.
Finding Self Through Travel - Explore how journeys – both physical and inner – shape who we are, guiding us through the stages of beginning, seeking, blessing, and returning home transformed.
