Meeting the Moment with Melton

Reproductive-Rights-500

Melton is proud to be creating a new learning opportunity designed to respond to current events happening around the globe. Meeting the Moment with Melton will showcase Jewish wisdom that can help frame and understand complex issues from various Jewish perspectives.

Our first Meeting the Moment with Melton session – Jewish Wisdom & the Discussions on Reproductive Rights – will take place Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. This session is free.

With the latest news surrounding the U.S. Supreme Court decision to not block Texas' new abortion law, the topic of reproductive rights is at the forefront of many Americans' minds. Jewish law and ethics have long sought to understand, deliberate, and guide Jews as to how to handle this challenging topic. Melton's ethics curriculum provides ancient writings and modern voices to help learners seeking wisdom on how to approach these issues. Right now, to meet the moment, Melton International is offering a special online session to take a close look at the topic of abortion as it is addressed in Judaism. Join Rabbi Lori Koffman of Park Avenue Synagogue in New York for a stimulating and timely presentation.

Current events are an opportunity for learning, and for Melton to bring enriching, Jewish knowledge to all who seek it.
