Rabbi Laila Haas, Director of Adult Learning and Growth
Rabbi Haas was born and raised in Miami Beach and grew up as an active member of the Jewish community. She attended The University of Miami and received her Bachelor of Arts as a Judaic Studies major. She earned her Rabbinical Ordination and Masters of Hebrew Letters from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and a Masters of Education Administration from Xavier University. From 2011-2018, Rabbi Haas served as Associate Rabbi and Director of Education at Temple Emanu-El in Birmingham, Alabama. In Spring 2019, she joined Miami's Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE) as Director of Adult Learning and Growth. As a rabbi and educator, she finds joy as people experience awe when Torah awakens their spirit and ignites their quest to learn, study and engage more deeply with the richness of our tradition.
Carla Spector, Director of Administration
Carla Spector is the Director of Administration for the Department of Adult Learning and Growth, serving in this position for Miami's Melton School since 2011. Her career in Jewish Education spans over 44 years, when Carla came to CAJE in 1976. She was the Director of Administration for the Judaica High School, working with teens for over 30 years. Carla staffed 7 March of the Living programs from 1994-2008 and served as Director for the MOTL in 2006.
