Rabbi Robert B. Slosberg has served as a spiritual leader of Congregation Adath Jeshurun in Louisville, Kentucky, since his rabbinic ordination in 1981. He quickly became involved in a wide variety of local and national organizations. He is a founding member of the Louisville AIPAC (American-Israel Public Affairs Committee) Council and has instituted innovative services and programs to involve all ages in congregational life.
He enjoys teaching both children and adults. Rabbi Slosberg continues to involve the membership in various social action programs to benefit the community. He works closely with interfaith couples and frequently counsels members and non-members in times of need. In recent years, Rabbi Slosberg has helped spearhead an expansion of programming and has played a major role in Adath Jeshurun’s successful four-million dollar building renovation campaign. Among the Rabbi’s many Louisville social action accomplishments are helping Unity Temple when it was experiencing financial problems, to raise over $144,000, and raising the funds to reunite a Sudanese refugee with his wife and daughter who were trapped in Sudan.
In 2012, Rabbi Slosberg was appointed the national chairman of the Masorti Rabbinic Cabinet. He also serves on the board of the National Council of Synagogues, a national Jewish Interfaith organization. From 2008 until 2012, Rabbi Slosberg was a driving force as chairman of Conservative Judaism's Outreach to Interfaith Couples Committee. Rabbi Slosberg is also a past Chairman of the Board of the Seminary's Albert A. List College in New York.
Rabbi Slosberg is a fervent supporter of the State of Israel, having led over 25 missions to Israel, and has served on several national organizations benefiting the State of Israel.
A cum laude graduate of Columbia University, Rabbi Slosberg also earned a BA, MA, Rabbinic Ordination and an honorary Doctor of Divinity from The Jewish Theological Seminary.
