2011mar-NNJ-launchDirector Frieda Hershman Huberman from Northern New Jersey successfully launched a local alumni association on March 8 with guest speaker Rabbi Morey Schwartz, Melton International Director of Curriculum and Faculty Development, speaking on The Miracle of Purim Revisited. Northern New Jersey is our 25th Melton School to establish a local alumni association, and the event resulted in over 50 graduates joining! Frieda shared a quote from event (& alumni association) co-chair, Sue-Ann Levin, who commented, "I thought last night was wonderful from start to finish. It felt great, looked great, Morey was terrific, I wish he taught locally. It was the perfect way to introduce the Alumni Association, promote Melton, learn and meet. It seems to me that everyone enjoyed the program very much and is a good model for future programs." Rabbi Angela Buchdahl

Central Synagogue, New York City
Melton has been transformative for our adult learning community, drawing on an entirely new group of adult students and transforming them into lifelong learners. We have found that engagement with Melton has also translated to greater engagement in Jewish life as well.

Rabbi David Glickman

Congregation Beth Shalom in Overland Park, KS
I can speak from my personal experience… that shuls benefit from this partnership as well. Much of our community’s synagogue and Federation leadership are Melton alumni, and our shul’s alumni have been catalysts for us to continually improve our adult education offerings.

Rabbi David Woznica

Stephen Wise Temple, Los Angeles, CA
If you care about the future of American Jewish life, if you care that Jews are educated and fall in love with Judaism, you’ll care about having a successful, passionate, thriving Florence Melton School.
